Staff and Students

Flu season is upon us, please keep your child home should they have a temperature of 99 degrees or higher, and contact your pediatrician. Good hand washing is encouraged to ward off germs, and using cough etiquette helps trap germs within your arm by using your inner elbow as you cough or sneeze. Remember, children may not return to school until they are fever free for 24 hours without the use of any medication to help alleviate fever. In addition, any child who is vomiting or has diarrhea should remain home until the symptoms resolve.

Attention 6th Grade Parents

As per New York State Education Law, all students entering SEVENTH Grade for the 2020/21 School Year, must provide the School Nurse a copy of your child's most recent physical exam. A physical exam is considered valid if it is dated on or after September 1, 2019. If your child has had an exam that falls within this time frame, then please forward the exam to our Nurse's Office since this will satisfy the NYS requirement. In addition to a Physical Exam, All 7th grade students MUST receive the Meningococcal Vaccination as per NYS Department of Health Guidelines. This vaccine must be received before the first day of school in September of 2020.  Admittance to school will be denied should your child not have this vaccination and your child will NOT be provided a class schedule until proof of meningococcal is completed. If your child has not received one as of yet, please contact your MD to make an appointment for your child to receive this vaccination. Once received, please forward the physical exam and vaccination record to Nurse's Office.

Attention 7th Grade Parents

As per NYS Education Laws, all 7th grade students must submit a current Physical Exam to the Nurse’s Office. In addition, all 7th grade students will be screened for vision, hearing and only 7th grade girls will be screened for scoliosis if none was recorded on MD’s exam.

Attention 8th Grade Parents

Please be advised, your students’ chart will be forwarded to their High School next year. Remember to submit all physical exams should your child want to play a school sponsored sport. The next year a physical exam is required as per NYS Guidelines is in 9th Grade. A physical exam completed ON or AFTER September 3, 2019 will be acceptable.
