FIFTH GRADE MOVING UP CAR PARADE
FOR FIFTH GRADE FAMILIES ONLY

Dear Parents/Guardians,
As the school year draws to a close, our Fifth Graders were scheduled to have one of their special events of a Moving-Up Ceremony. This year, due to the orders of the Governor
regarding school closures, social distancing and gatherings; we will be completing our Moving-Up Ceremony through a video which will be shared with all of you in a few
weeks.

In addition to the Moving-Up video we are able to hold a Fifth Grade Car Parade for each class. You may have seen this referenced in an email from Dr. Stone. The event will be
held on Thursday, June 11th at Lincoln-Titus Elementary School. Due to the restrictions regarding gatherings we cannot have families outside of their cars and we can only have a
limited number of staff present for the parade. Each class has a designated time for their parade:

5M will be 12:00 PM line up one car per family at Bowling Alley parking area off of Route 202 and 12:15 PM parade up parking lot with Officer Lepore leading the way to
turn right into oval around school and out Lincoln Avenue to depart.
5S will be 12:30 PM line up one car per family at Bowling Alley parking area off of Route 202 and 12:45 PM parade up parking lot with Officer Lepore leading the way to turn right into oval around school and out Lincoln Avenue to depart.
5W will be 1:00 PM line up one car per family at Bowling Alley parking area off of Route 202 and 1:15 PM parade up parking lot with Officer Lepore to turn right into oval around school and out Lincoln Avenue to depart.

Dear Parents and Guardians:

As you have heard the Governor of NY has announced schools in New York will be closed through the end of our school year and continue with Remote Learning. We will continue to work with the students and try to engage them in learning with your support as we finish out this unique school year.

At this time our District Office Administration has requested we start to prepare the buildings for the end of the school year. Therefore, our teachers will need to come to the buildings in a systematic, carefully designed manner to ensure their safety and yours as they assist in cleaning out student contents and the classroom. Please know on their designated dates they will not be available for Google Meets, Chats and/or phone calls.

Each classroom teacher is being asked to come and place your child’s belongings from the classroom in a marked bag for parent drive by pick-up. This upcoming week, Monday, May, 11 through Friday, May 15 teachers will be in to accomplish that goal.

Starting Monday, May 18 we have a schedule for families to drive to the building for pick-up of their children’s belongings (including medication, if appropriate). We will complete the process of pick-up alphabetically by the child’s last name. Please see the schedule below:

Please be sure to stay in your car, we will work as fast as we can to hand off the bags. We apologize in advance if you have a wait during your designated time, it will be dependent upon the arrival of each vehicle. Should you be unavailable at the designated day/time to pick up the items our Transportation Department will drop off the bags at your home at a later date. However, medication will not be able to go home in this manner.

Stay safe and be well,
Elizabeth McGowan
