Lakeland Central School District will be closed for the remainder of the 2019-2020 school year.

 

Fifth Grade Moving Up Car Parade
Help us celebrate George Washington Elementary School’s 5th Grade Moving Up Class of 2020

 

Where:  George Washington Elementary School 

When: June 15th
10:00-10:30 Mrs. Cioffi’s Class
10:45- 11:15  Ms. Cohen’s Class
11:25- 11:55 Mrs. Senior’s Class

How:Parents will drive their car to the back parking lot 5 minutes before their child’s class start time.  Parents will then drive from the back lot through the bus lane.  Parents and their child will be able to wave to their favorite teachers.  Parents will then loop back around for one last goodbye.

IMPORTANT GUIDELINES:

  • No one will be allowed out of their cars.
  • Cars will not stop, please drive through slowly.
  • Cars can be decorated.

Attention Fourth Grade Parents/ Guardians

Next year, your children will have the opportunity to play in Band or Orchestra in Grade 5, as well as singing in Chorus. The selection for those instruments takes place now. Please watch the presentation below and fill out the attached form at the end.

Dear parents of our special needs students;

We have now fully entered into what I think of as the second phase of our response to the state ordered response to the Covid 19 Pandemic. Our initial actions supported our students through Google classrooms where information and activities were housed for students and families. These supports were never meant to be a long term response to this dilemma, but rather a support while we receive additional direction from the federal and state governments. That direction having been provided, along with Governor Cuomo’s extension of the precautions through May 15th, brings with it the clear need to plan for our students over a longer term. In addition to an expectation that we need to support students through a long term separation from school, we must acknowledge that the length of this term could extend well into or through June. Lakeland Central School District graduates can be found in a wide variety of occupations throughout multiple geographic areas.  On Alumni in Action webpages, we will be highlighting some of those graduates while providing a glimpse into their lives after graduating from Walter Panas or Lakeland high school.  (read more)
