The TJ PTA strives to provide useful and engaging information at each PTA meeting. In addition to our regular PTA business, we will also have speakers who can provide relevant information for you and your children. TJES PTA Fundraisers Description -All proceeds go directly to PTA to fund school activities

Apparel Drive: Thomas Jefferson Elementary School logo apparel purchase.   Select items available via an order form in October or can be purchased during the school year at the school store.  For other types of apparel with the TJ logo go to  then find our state and school. You can purchase apparel from baby bibs, hats, sweatpants to t-shirts and sweatshirts.  They make great gifts.  Show your TJ Pride!

Fall Fundraiser: Traditionally known as the "Gift Wrap" fundraiser, the PTA  partners with a catalog company that has items to purchase in time for the holidays.  Great items from candy, home decor, kitchen items, magazine subscriptions and of course... gift wrap. Delivery pick up is on Election Day.

Free Money: Amazon: TJ will earn a percentage based on the number of users and the amount of their purchases purchased through Amazon School Rewards Program.  You will need to login from TJ’s unique link :  Amazon for TJ to get the credit.  You will still log in from this page using your individual Amazon account information.   (Tell your friends and family too!)

Box Tops: Many products that we use have Box Tops for Education coupon on them. TJ earns 10 cents for every one that is clipped and submitted.  There are two collections during the year. The class that submits the most gets an ice cream party!

DeCicco: TJ earns 2% of your order every time you shop.   All you need to do is tell the cashier to key in Thomas Jefferson’s code when you get to the register.  (Tell your friends and family too!)

Shop Rite: In partnership with Box Tops for Education, for every specific General Mills products that is purchased, TJ earns additional box tops earning.  Register your Shop Rite card at www.shopriteformyschool.comType in your zip code, select TJ and follow the prompts. You will need your Shop Rite card number.

Stop & Shop: TJ earns points each month every time you shop.  Those points convert into dollars.  Register your Stop & Shop card at  TJ’s Code is #0937.  You do need to re-register each school year.

School Store: The school store will be available at select evening events held at TJ. The students will be able to purchase fun school supplies and TJ promotional items.

Original Works: This is TJ’s Spring fundraiser.  Original Works is a company that transfers your child's artwork onto a variety of items (just about anything) that you can purchase and give as personalized presents.  Think Mother’s Day, Father’s Day, birthdays, or other special events or holidays throughout the year.

School Kidz: TJ has partnered with School Kidz to create these Teacher tailored supply kits that provides an easy way to prepare children for a successful school year. This program provides hassle-free school supply shopping that's customized for each grade.  The PTA supplies the company with the grade supply list and School Kidz packs it all up in a convenient box with a handle and ships it to your door.  All you have to do is order it.

After-School Activity Supervisors & Registration Helpers: Sessions take place three times per academic year.  Volunteers will oversee after-school activities, including insuring that students are escorted to the appropriate activity room and are signed out by a parent at pick-up time. Volunteers for this position must remain at the school during the after-school activity period.   One parent is needed per weekday. These volunteers do not attend registration and can sign up one child for one free class.  Volunteers are also needed for registration day to assist with the paper work.  These volunteers can sign up one child for one class for free.

All School Activity Night: Volunteers will assist the Committee Chair to coordinate and run the all-school activity night.

Apparel/School Store: Volunteers will assist the Committee Chair to sell TJ promotional apparel and other school pride items at PTA sponsored evening events.

Book Fair and Book Fair Kick-Off: The Book Fair Kick-Off takes place in the evening and volunteers will help with event activities (crafts, games, etc.), book purchases and operate registers. Volunteers are also needed during school hours to assist students selecting books for purchase and operating the cash registers.  This year volunteers will be entered in a restaurant gift card raffle.

Election Day Bake Sale: The bake sale takes place in the lobby of TJ during voting hours. Volunteers are needed to bake homemade items.  The community looks forward to the loaves, cupcakes and cookies that our parents bake.  Dust off grandma’s famous "Nestle Toulouse" cookie recipe. Volunteers are also needed to sell baked goods throughout the day. Various shifts are available.

Field Day: Volunteers will assist Committee Chair with planning and running field day by serving food to the students and distributing the PTA gift.

Friendship Cafe: Volunteers will assist the Committee Chair to plan and decorate the APR for the students near Valentine’s Day.  Students are allowed to sit anywhere they choose that day for lunch.

Grade Activity Night: Volunteers will assist the Committee Chair to coordinate and run K-1, 2-3 and 4th grades activity nights.

5th Grade Committee: There are many fun-filled events and activities planned for the graduating 5th-grade class. Volunteers are needed for fundraising, yearbook, t-shirts, Canteen, DARE, fun in the sun day and bake sale.

Lakeland Education Foundation Family Fun Day: This is a day of family fun for all Lakeland school district families.  Volunteers would assist  the Committee Chair to coordinate and man the TJ PTA stand. School promotional items are sold at this event and free crafts are offered.

Learning Nook: This is a PTA resource for TJ’s staff.  The staff submits requests for manipulatives and other items to be created for use in the classroom to enhance learning.  Volunteers will bring home items to be created or put together . 

Math Volunteers: Volunteers would work with Kindergarten through second grade students on a weekly basis.  The time commitment is generally 45 minutes per week. Math volunteers will be asked to attend a training session in the beginning of the semester.

Readers Are Leaders Day: Volunteers would organize and help all classes create Dr. Seuss themed bookmarks.

Reading Volunteers: Volunteers would read with Kindergarten through second grade students on a weekly basis.  The time commitment is generally 45 minutes per week. Reading volunteers will be asked to attend a training session in the beginning of the semester.

School Photos: Volunteers would assist the Committee Chair to coordinate flyers, collection of money and distribution of the photos.

Teacher Appreciation Luncheon: Volunteers will assist hospitality Committee Chair to decorate the teacher’s lounge and set up for breakfast and lunch for Thomas Jefferson’s Staff.

TJ Gives Back to the Community Week: Each grade level will be asked to make donations to the children's hospital. Donations will be collected throughout the week in the main entrance. Volunteers are needed daily for the week during indoor recess to assist students in creating an art project that will be on display at the Maria Ferari Children's Hospital. This is a wonderful opportunity to help out in your child's classroom. The week culminates with an all school activity night.

TJ Mascot: Volunteer will dress in TJ’s Mascot Jefferson’s costume and attend selected TJ events.

TJ Showstoppers Evening Performance: Volunteers will sell light refreshments before and during the performance.

Veteran’s Day Card Making: Volunteers would assist students to create cards for local Veterans in the community.  Volunteers would also assist during the school day when the Veterans visit.

Welcome Desk: Volunteers greet visitors to the school, keep sign-in and sign-out register, and assist the office staff with minor tasks. Help is needed during school hours. Morning and afternoon shifts are available.

Winter Fair/Book Fair: Volunteers would assist to sell merchandise, wrap gifts and oversee arts and craft activities. This year, there will be Scholastic books for sale at the fair. Volunteers would assist students/families purchase books and to operate cash registers.
