Message from the Superintendent

March 12, 2021

Lakeland Community,

The purpose of this revised document is to provide an updated framework for families and staff to plan for an increase to four days of in-person learning on April 6, 2021. The plan is based on federal, state, and local laws, regulations, and guidance, as well as input from our District Physician and the District Reentry Team (DRT). Please be aware that each of our schools will plan accordingly based on the individual needs and characteristics of the building and school community.

If circumstances change prior to the end of the school year, we are prepared to move back to hybrid or fully remote learning models as conditions dictate.

This continues to be a “living” fluid document that will be subject to adjustments and the inclusion of additional details based on the continued work of our task forces, changes to our state or local status in relation to the virus, and community input.

The health and safety of our students and our staff is our top priority. We are committed to providing a learning environment that is as safe and healthy as possible for our students and staff, while providing meaningful instruction and learning opportunities.

Thank you for your support and patience as we continue to work together through these difficult and unprecedented times. Be well.

Brendan Lyons, Ed. D.
