Lakeland Voters Approve the 2014-2015 Budget, Elect Trustees
The Lakeland Central School District's 2014-15 Budget was approved by district voters on Tuesday (May 20) with 941 yes votes and 339 no votes. Elected to three-year terms on the Board of Education were (vote totals) Denise Kness 774, Glen Malia 741, and Rachelle Nardelli 707. The other trustee vote counts were Michael Cherchia 641, Scott Carey 594. The bus proposition was also approved 877 to 379.

| The Board of Education adopted a Proposed 2014-2015 Budget at its budget work session on Thursday, April 3, 2014. The budget totals $161,174,165, an increase of 0.5% from the current year's budget. The district wide tax levy will increase 0.5% which is under the New York State tax cap figure for 2014-2015 of 1.29%.
The vote on the proposed budget is Tuesday, May 20 from 7:00 am to 9:00 pm at the Van Cortlandtville Elementary School, Main Street, Mohegan Lake. Information on the Proposed 2014-2015 Budget is available in several forms for District residents.
