Panas Names Class of 2019 Valedictorian, Salutatorian
Congratulations to Nicole Chiulli and Sienna Campbell who have been named the Class of 2019 Valedictorian and Salutatorian at Walter Panas High School.
Nicole is the Valedictorian for the Class of 2019 with a GPA of 101.04. Nicole deserves recognition for her scholarship as well as her service and athleticism. Specifically, Nicole has maintained High Honor roll during her entire tenure at Walter Panas, as well as individual distinctions including the John Naperi Mathematics Award, the Amedeo Avogardo Award in Chemistry, the Impressionism Art Award and the Bolivar Award in AP World History. Nicole has also been a member of the Varsity swim team since grade 9 as well as Panas Players, and has spent her "free time" volunteering in many capacities, including the Skyview Nursing home. She plans on attending college to study Neuroscience. Nicole was also named a National Merit Scholarship Commended Student this year.
Sienna is the Salutatorian for the Class of 2019 with a GPA of 100.13. Sienna deserves recognition for her achievements and challenges across all content areas. Sienna is currently one of two Board of Education representatives from Walter Panas High School. Outside of the classroom Sienna has also built up quite an impressive array of experiences including the foundation of the Lincoln Titus Sewing Circle and the Let Girls Lead club as well as the formation of her own personal brand of handmade accessories. She also enjoys multiple languages including Spanish, French, Japanese and Swahili. Finally, Sienna attended the Summer Business Academy at Harvard where she participated in an entrepreneurship competition. Sienna will pursue her interests at the college level next year and has many paths from which she can choose. Sienna was also named a 2019 National Merit Scholarship Commended Student and a 2019 National Hispanic Recognition Program scholar.
