Lakeland Girls Fall Short in New York State Class A Basketball Championship

In a game that was close until their opponent, Averil Park, started hitting three-ponters, Lakeland High School Girls Basketball team came up just short in the Class A New York State Championship in Troy, losing 53-46. Jarosz finished with 27 points, 16 rebounds, and 10 blocked shots. Averil Park tried 28 three-point shots, making only seven, but six came in the second half and proved to be the biggest factor in their victory.

Lakeland led at the end of the first quarter and again at the half.
