The American soldiers also wore moccasins and hunting shirts. General Washington in fact recommended the hunting shirt as a part of the standard uniform to the Continental Congress. This was because it was the most practical and cheap garment for the soldiers who could not be supplied with regulation uniforms. Most soldiers preferred wearing leather-hunting shirts. Did you know that American soldiers were also called minutemen? This is because the American soldiers could be ready at a minute’s notice. American soldier’s accessories included two guns. One of the guns was the musket, which was mostly used in war. Another gun was the rifle, which had big bullets. Good thing the American soldiers didn’t carry their guns everywhere they go. |
