Here come the British Soldiers! A British Soldier from colonial times would usually wear a red jacket and breaches; which are similar to modern Capri’s. Accessories would include stockings, black boots with a buckle, and a white shirt. They would usually carry a gun. They wore tricorn hats, which were hats with three corners. They also may have worn very tall black hats. Most of them wore white wigs. They fought against the Americans in the Revolutionary War. They would usually wear four layers. During the winter months, they wore long overalls made of brown cloth and in the summer they wore white coarse overalls. Each man was supplied with a musket, bayonet swords, and an iron stocked pistol. They were also called the “Black Watch”, Redcoats, and by some unhappy colonists were called “lobsterbacks.” Look at them go! |
