| We
want to help kids who are stressing about tests feel more relaxed.
We also want them to know how they can beat the stress and the test.
To us, test stress is just like a disease, if left untreated, it gets
worse and worse. We want to stop it as much as we can before it starts. |
Stress
Tips
Eat healthy
foods, exercise, and get enough sleep. Find something to relax yourself.
Be optimistic. Don’t be discouraged if you get a bad grade on
one big test. If your friends have better grades, don’t let
that discourage you.

| Test
Taking Tips
Read
directions carefully and skip hard questions. Look for clue words.
Look over your test at least twice. Eliminate 2 OUT OF 4 answers
that don’t make sense. For essays, use bullets as jump starts
for paragraphs. Restate the question for an introduction and the
main points of an essay for a conclusion. Write notes for a reading
passage to look back at important information. Use a 5 Ws and How
chart (who, what, where, why, and when.) Use SQ3R (survey, question,
read, recite, review.) |

Study
Tips
Consult parents and teachers if you are scared
of tests. Study with your parents, friends or siblings. To help study,
use mnemonics (i.e.) Lions Hate Stupid Balloons (Lungs,
Heart, Stomach, Brain.) Put test dates on a calendar or chart
to remember. Study more than one night; study a little each day leading
up to the test. Use flash cards for math and science tests. |
