CONTACT The office must be advised immediately of any changes in phone numbers or addresses for parents, guardians or emergency contacts. It is vitally important that we be able to reach parents when necessary. Please include work, cell phone, beeper and/or pager numbers, if applicable. SIGN IN / SIGN OUT Any child who is brought to school late must report to the school nurse. Please check in the office, before heading to the nurse. If you wish to pick up your child from school before regular dismissal, preferably send a letter with your child, or call and sign your child out in the front office upon pick up. You may not remove any student from a school bus in front of the school. Let the front office know if a need arises to retreive your child. DISMISSAL PROCEDURES In order to maintain a safe dismissal procedure, children who are to be picked up from school will be dismissed from and signed out in the All Purpose Room. Please, do not stand in the main entrance hallway to pick-up your child. Pick-ups will exit through the APR's side door. A note is always required whenever your child's dismissal will differ from the usual. Regardless of who is picking up your child(ren), a note must be sent to school on that day. After school playdate changes are discouraged due to limited bus seating. However, if a necessity for childcare purposes arises, two notes are required; one from the parent(s) sending and one from the parent receiving. Bus passes will still be issued to those students making visits on the same bus. Due to lack of space, we cannot permit children to switch buses for the purpose of visiting after school. All notes are to be brought to school and presented to the classroom teacher first thing in the morning. The teacher will then forward them to the office. Each morning a list containing the names of the children to be picked up will be assembled by the office. At dismissal time, those students will be sent to the APR to meet the individual picking them up.VISITATION Parents and other visitors to Lincoln-Titus must report to the front office to sign in. A visitor's badge will be issued. Visitors are required to sign-out in the front office as well. ABSENCES Absences must be called in to the school nurse by 8:45 a.m. at 528-3582. A note is to be sent in with your child on the day he/she returns to class. NURSE Medication of any kind, including over-the-counter drugs an cough drops, cannot be dispensed to any child without a doctor's order and parental consent. An adult must bring the medicine to school in its original container. No medication brought to school by a student will be administered. If you need to give your child any medication during the school day, you must do it in the nurse's office. Physical examinations by a family doctor or school physician are required for students in grades K, 2, 4, 7, and 10 and for new entrants. Certificates of immunization are required for every student in Lakeland. Please contact the school nurse for further information. LOST AND FOUND Lost or misplaced articles of clothing, lunch boxes, etc. accumulate throughout the year. Please check our Lost and Found department periodically. ANIMALS AND PETS Any animals or pets visiting school for educational purposes must be registered with the office and approved by the school principal prior to the visit. Guidelines for rabies prevention are strictly enforced. TEXTBOOKS In order to preserve our textbooks, we ask that they be covered. Covers may be fashioned from wrapping, newspaper, cloth, etc. Prices for lost books may be obtained from the office. LUNCH A hot lunch is served every full school day. The Director of the School Lunch Program is Ms. Joanne Ricapito, who can be reached at 245-1700. Lunch may be purchased on a daily basis.. A menu is sent home each month. Prices for lunches and information on financial assistance are mailed to you by the end of August.
