Homework Guidelines

The Lincoln-Titus school community believes that homework can help students learn and allows parents to know about their children's education. When parents show an interest in their child's schoolwork, they teach that learning is valued.

Children who do more homework, on average, do better in school. And, as children move up through the grades, homework becomes even more important to school success.

HOMEWORK REQUESTS
When a student is absent for several days and a parent wishes for homework to be sent home with another student, or to be picked up, a phone call should be made to the school office no later than 9:00 a.m. This will allow our secretaries to make necessary arrangements. It will give the teacher ample time to prepare a packet as well. Homework may be picked up from the main office between 2:35 p.m. and 3:30 p.m.

The Lincoln-Titus Site-Based Team, with input from parents and staff, developed the following guidelines:
Grade

Kindergarten 15 minutes Up to 4 times per week
First 15-20 minutes Up to 4 times per week
