Brooklyn Bridge- Brooklyn

Brooklyn was originally farmland used by a Native American tribe known as the Canarsie. In the mid-1630s, the British and the Dutch settled in the area. Within ten years the Dutch farmers established the Town of Brueckelen. Conflict arose between the two groups and the English, eventually, took over in 1664. Twenty years later, the English government organized the area of New York into counties. Brooklyn became one of the six towns in Kings County.
