| The pharoah was the most
powerful person in Ancient Egypt. He was the political and
religious leader of the Egyptian people. Most pharoahs were
considered to be gods.
The word pharaoh translates
into "great house", meaning the palace where he lived. One
of the most important projects that a pharaoh would order was having his
pyramid
built. Everyone in Egypt had to contribute many months of the year
to work on the pharaoh's building project.
The queen of Egypt was
also considered a goddess. She was usually given the title "Great
Royal Wife". |
