| Kings, queens,
pharaohs, and leaders were buried in the most elegant sarcophaguses.
Hieroglyphics were inscriptions on the sarcophaguses that allowed them
to enter the next world. A sarcophagus was used to preserve the bodies
after mummifying the dead bodies. There were three sarcophaguses
used: the outer, middle, and the inner sarcophagus. The outer one
was the most intricate and meaningful. These sarcophaguses took many
months to make, so the bodies were preserved in the meantime. |
