Slaves Navigating the King's Ship
The model wooden ship portrays the slaves hard at work.  The pilot stands in the bow (front) giving navigational directions to his crew.

Ancient Egyptians used this ship for fishing, transportation, and recreation down the Nile River.   Under the canopy the king would relax and keep hidden from the sun and enemies.  The earliest ships were constructed from papyrus.  Later, the slaves used wood such as cedar.
