When requesting a letter of recommendation:
Ask a teacher who knows you and can capture your strengths and character.
The Teacher LOR should speak to your qualities and strengths as a person (e.g., your grit, never giving-up no matter how difficult the task; what would make your a great roommate or friend).
The Teacher LOR does not need to discuss your academic strength in his/her class - your high school transcript represents your academic effort.
Avoid asking a 1st Semester, 12th Grade Teacher who never had you as a student.
