Departmental 3 Program

Table of Contents

Lakeland High School houses the Departmental 3 special class program, a 4 to 6 year academic program leading to a high school diploma with an optional vocational component for students with specific learning needs requiring a more intensive academic program.  Students are placed in the program through the CSE based on their educational needs.  In order to assist students in completing the requirements for a high school diploma, courses culminating in a Regents examination are offered over two periods to provide additional instructional time. Individual student needs are accounted for when planning for each student and additional academic supports are implemented as appropriate.
