Standing Committees

The Board of Education may establish standing committees each school year. Each committee’s purpose shall be specified when the committee is formed. Appointments to standing committees may be made by the Board President at a meeting of the Board of Education with the concurrence of the Board of Education. The Board President shall serve as an ex-officio member of all standing committees to which he or she is not appointed. The Superintendent of Schools or designee shall also serve as an ex-officio member of all standing committees.

Ad Hoc Committees

Ad hoc committees may be established by the Board of Education to carry out specific assignments. The committee’s assignment will be specified when the committee is formed. The chairperson and members of any ad hoc committee will be appointed by the Board President.

Advisory Committees

Advisory committees may be established by the Board for specific purposes. The committee’s scope of responsibility will be specified when the committee is formed and the committee will be limited to an advisory role.

The Board of Education may accept, reject or modify all or any part of any committee’s recommendation.
