3140 - Change in Scope of Work on Capital Construction Projects

CHANGE IN SCOPE OF WORK ON CAPITAL CONSTRUCTION PROJECTS

The Board of Education wishes to facilitate the timeliness of work associated with the District’s capital construction projects.  As such, the Board recognizes the occasional need to approve changes in construction plans (“change orders”) as the work unfolds.

The Board authorizes the Superintendent of Schools in consultation with the Board President, to approve increases and decreases in the planned capital facilities project work in an amount not to exceed $35,000 in the aggregate for one project, but only when necessary to maintain the progress of the work without substantially altering the scope of project related work.  Change orders which exceed $35,000 will require prior Board approval.

No payment will be made unless change orders are approved and signed by the Superintendent where authorized by this policy and otherwise by the Board President.
