Family Math Night
At Ben Franklin Elementary School

Home- Fifth Grade

Fifth graders at Benjamin Franklin had the opportunity to practice fun and challenging math skills at a Family Math Night, hosted by Mrs. Romero. Students and parents encouraged each other throughout the night. The Smartboard was a big hit. Students demonstrated to parents how they use an interactive protractor to measure and name angles. They also explored algebraic equations on the Smartboard. Some parents and children cuddled up with a book and a pillow in the reading corner that focused on math integration books. Students reviewed place value, patterns, numeric operations, fractions and many other math strands. Congratulations to Myra Sabet for winning the estimation raffle. Myra went home with 689 gumballs and happily shared with fellow classmates before leaving! Click on the first photograph to view the slideshow.
