Every night I take home a few books that I can already read. I read these books to a grown-up person. When I read the books over and over again I learn NEW things about how print and reading work. Even though it seems like I have the books memorized, I am practicing new tricks that help me become a better reader. |

Everynight I take home a cut-up sentence. I make up this story in school. It is usually something I would like to share and talk about. I work very hard listening to the sounds of words and also remembering how some words look. I can figure out how to write new words from words I already know. My teacher puts my story on a sentence strip and cuts it up. A grown-up watches me put it together again at home. |

Everynight I would love to be tucked into bed with a book. After I read my books to a grown-up, can you please read a book to me? This, too, will help me become a SUPER READER! |
