On the Wild SideBy Jeanne Betancourt |

In the beginning of the story, a three-year-old boy runs ahead of his mom and climbs a four-foot tall fence into an eighteen-foot gorilla pit. Binti, a mother gorilla that weighs 150 pounds picked up the child and cradled him in her arms. The zookeepers wanted to get the baby but were worried about how they would get the baby without exciting or scaring the big animal. One man had an idea. It was to spray water from the hose. It worked because the other gorillas wouldn't go through the barrier even to see the baby. If other gorillas went to touch the baby, the baby might be in more danger than it is now. At the end Binti brings the three-year old boy to the entrance of the gorilla exhibit. The zookeepers ran to the door, opened it, and got the baby out. A medical crew was already there by the time the baby was out. "Is he breathing?" a lot of people asked. "Yes, he is!" exclaimed a member of the medical crew. Then everyone was safe and the boy recovered fully. I recommend this book to people
who like animals and suspense, all in one book.
