Three Alarm Fire

by Jeanne Betancourt

In the beginning of this book, Meghan is in her room, Mrs. Holman and Catlin are in Catlin's room, and Mr. Holman is in the master bedroom. Snowball is Meghan's hamster. He is in Meghan's room. They all fall asleep.

In the middle of the book, the problem starts. Meghan wakes up because she hears Snowball scratching on his metal cage. At first Meghan was angry, then she saw what was bothering him. There was a fire two feet away from Meghan's bed! She ran out of her room into Catlin's bedroom. Mrs. Holman thought Meghan was sleep walking and so she took Meghan back to her room to prove there was no fire. But Mrs. Holman was wrong! There was a fire. She sent Meghan and Catlin to wake up Mr. Holman. They all got out and called the fire department. Then Meghan remembered that she left Snowball behind in the burning house. The whole family agreed that they would never see Snowball again. Almost everyone heard about Snowball and how he saved Meghan and the rest of the family.

In the end of the story they get a man to fix their house. There was a wall and deep inside the man saw two tiny eyes. The man got water to get the animal out. Then he looked and saw it was the hero hamster. He rushed outside to tell the Holmans the good news. They were all very happy.

I recommend this book t anyone who thinks that animals can't do amazing things.
