Return to your seat and select a flower to draw in close up view.
1. To show that you are very
close to the flower, you will have parts of the flower go off of the page.
Not all
of the flower you are drawing will show on your paper.
You will
not have very much background showing.
The flower
will take up most of the space on your paper.
2. Do some blending of colors
to make your flower look more real.
Notice the petals
and their different shades of reds and oranges in "Red
Amaryllis".
A green
leaf in your drawing will have different shades of green- like, yellow-green,
pine green and blue-green.
3. Like Georgia O'Keeffe,
you will use some contrasting colors when adding color to your drawing.
Contrasting
colors are colors that are opposite, or nearly opposite, on the color wheel.
You see
this in "White Flower", where the flower
has orange-yellow and the background has blue.
4. When you have completed your flower close up, write your name on the back.
5. Give your artwork a title and write this on the back.
