Middle School Hours Finances

Option #1

• Costs continue as currently budgeted for District transportation.

Option #2

• The District will be required to purchase four additional full-size buses and two vans in year one.  The cost will be $80,000 per year for five years (bond).
• There will be an increase of approximately 80+ hours per day in diver time.  At current rates, this will cost the District approximately $430,000 per year, which includes benefits.
• The District will be required to hire one additional mechanic at a cost of approximately $72,467, which includes benefits.
• Total cost for the first year will be approximately $502,096 with a net cost of approximately $308,511 after state aid.

Option #3

• 26 hours per day in driver time at a cost of $125,715.
• There is no need for additional buses or a mechanic.
• After state aid the net cost to the district will be $66,629.
