The Library subscribes to several online databases to make your research easier. Click on the links below to take you to the database you wish to search. Passwords for home use are available at the bottom of the page, under related files.  The handout is also available in the Library, please see Mrs. Browne or Mrs. Simone with any questions.  

Reference Databases - Encyclopedias, Biography Information and Atlases.  Both of these databases give you the bibliographic citation in MLA format at the end of the article.

World Book Online

World Book Student includes all the articles from the print versions of the World Book Encyclopedia, plus thousands of additional articles, learning resources, and research tools, as well as World Book Biography Center, with more than 10,000 biographies and extensive dictionary and atlas resources.

Gale Student Resource Center

Student Resource Center offers easy access to content based on national curriculum standards. Covering the major subject areas, including history, literature, science, social studies, reference, thousands of full-text periodicals and newspapers, primary documents, creative works, and multimedia, including hours of video and audio clips and podcasts. The database will also read the article aloud to you, click on the icon at the top of the page.

EBSCOhost Database 

Middle Search Plus provides full text for more than 140 popular, middle school magazines. Also, Newspaper Source provides cover-to-cover full text for 45 national (U.S.) & international newspapers. The database also contains selective full text for 389 regional (U.S.) newspapers.

NOVEL-ny - NOVELNY is an online library of literally hundreds of magazines, newspapers, maps, charts, research and reference books that are available to every New Yorker. The NOVELNY databases are free to every resident of New York State through their local public, academic or school library. The majority of these resources are on a high school or adult level, so be sure to check the above databases first.

Included are---Business & Company Resource Center -- includes company profiles, brand information, company histories, SEC reports, periodical articles, and links to relevant Web sites.

Health & Wellness Resource Center -- contains articles from medical publications, articles from general interest publications on medical topics, medical pamphlets, health organization directory, a medical encyclopedia, health news links, drug and herb information, a medical dictionary, alternative health encyclopedia, health assessment tools, and links to Internet sources.
