A WebQuest for 8th Grade French
Based on examples by Beverly DeWyze and Lee Kirby
Adapted by Mme. Bernstein
Lakeland Copper Beech Middle School, Lakeland Central Schools
Introduction - Task - Process - Resources - Evaluation - Conclusion
Did you know that there are more French-speaking countries in the world
than countries that speak any other language.
How did this happen? How are
they alike? How are they different?
Once you complete your expedition, you’ll be the expert! As “Hunter Extraordinaire” you will discover
amazing facts about selected French-speaking destinations. Within your designated roles, you will
present your finding on your travel destination. As a class, we will then compare and contrast each travel
destination in an attempt to rate and recommend destinations to other
travelers.
You will study one selected French-speaking country in depth and prepare a Power Point presentation on it with your group. You will also compare facts about different countries within your chosen role. You will evaluate pros and cons of travel to your destination within your country groups. Finally the class will make general travel recommendations based on the findings of the group.

No graphics were used to create this webquest. I'm sorry it's not more visually appealing. I just didn't have time to "pretty it up." It's a really fun activity, though. If you want to see what the graphics would have looked like, check out my "On Va en France" webquest. It's the same thing.
