Introduction

Your family has decided to take a trip to France! It's the first time you have been to France, and everyone is excited. This is your one chance to absorb as much of one French city and what it has to offer in a limited time. The problem is that each one of you has different interests and likes, so you must make an itinerary that fits all of your needs. Once you are in France, you will visit all of these fun and exciting places and bring back information and pictures for a scrapbook. You want to have a breat trip and bring back plenty of memories!

Task

Your task as a family is to search the Internet for places in France that fit your interests, visit these places, gather information, and take photos of the places you visit. When you get back home, you will put all of the information and photos into a scrapbook so you can have a place for all of your family's memories of your trip to France.

Process

You will be assigned a "family" of four people- a dad, a mom, a sister, and a brother. Let me introduce you to your family:

Papa - Dad is a big history buff. He loves anything related to World War II. He also is an architect, so he loves old houses and interesting architecture.
Maman - Mom loves nature. Put her in a garden and she's happy. She also loves good food and wine.
Frère - Brother just wants to have fun! He loves the beach and wants to buy souvenirs for his girlfriend back home.
Sœur - Sister wants to see all the hot spots! She has learned all about France and wants to see the famous monuments! She also loves art and wants to see the famous paintings of France.

You'll be assigned a role in a family. As a family, you must decide on a city to visit. After you've chosen a destination, each person should plan the itinerary for one day, based on his or her interests. Gather information about the sites your family will visit, and be sure to record everything on the chart you will be sharing with your family. Your family may also set up a folder on the Share Drive (in Ms. Bernstein's folder), where you can save pictures you "take" during your day.

Evaluation

After your vacation, you will have a family meeting where you will share your memories of the vacation. Be sure to remind your family of the many fascinating places you visited during the day you planned! Each member of your family will create a scrapbook on Power Point, where you will share photos and information you learned during your vacation.

Your individual scrapbook will be the only element in this project to be graded, so be creative! Be sure to include the pictures your family took, and lots of information!

Your title page should include your "family name," including your role in the family, and your real name.
Create one slide for each day of your vacation. The slides should showcase pictures and facts.
Your final slide should be a reflection of your trip. What did you enjoy most? What did you least enjoy? What would you do differently if you had the opportunity to visit this city again?

Your grade will be based on 40% Content, 40% Creativity, 20% Individual Contribution to Group.

Conclusion

France is a wonderful country with so much to offer. It is rich with culture, history, and tons of fun stuff to do! Now that you have completed your adventure to France, you have learned about the hot spots to visit if you ever take a real voyage across the Atlantic.
