Magnetic
levitation a.k.a. maglev originated in Japan and now the United States
is going to start adopting its technology. It functions by hovering
an object off of another object. Both of the objects must have repelling
magnets in them to create a hover. Magnetic trains are what have
been using the maglev technology. The train tracks are T-shaped so
that the train can wrap around it and not fall off. Magnets are on
all sides so that if one set of magnets fail they still have three other
sets of magnets to keep everything moving.
