Focus Question: Why are study skills important? Besides paying attention in school and working hard in class, studying is another key to school success. Some students like to study while others don’t like it at all. This is usually because they don’t know how. Studying well is something we need to learn how to do. Treat school as if it were your job. The better you do in school, the better your chances of doing well in life. When you parent(s) go to work each day, they need to do the same thing as you to do well- work hard, work cooperatively with others, and stay focused. There are 8 reasons why learning good study skills is important: 1. You will feel great about yourself and how much you have accomplished. 2. Your family will be proud of you. 3. Your parents will stop nagging you about keeping up with your work. 4. Your parents may be so proud of you that they may grant extra privileges. 5. Your teachers will be very pleased that you hand in work on time. 6. Your teachers will be very pleased that you are working hard and earning good grades. 7. If you're planning to go to college, you're more likely to be accepted to the college of your choice. 8. You stand a far better chance of getting a great job/career if you work hard and always do your best.
