Format:

The statement should be
written in the form of an essay describing how you meet the guidelines for
membership in the National Junior Honor Society.
·
The essay should include
an introduction, at least three paragraphs where you explain how you
demonstrate the NJHS criteria, and a conclusion.
·
The essay must be neat
and well written. It may be typed, but
this is not a requirement.
Topics to include:
·
Reasons why you should be
considered for membership
·
Description of wow you
met the criteria of the NJHS
·
Listing of your special
abilities, hobbies, and interests
·
What you learned during
your year of NJHS candidacy
CRITERIA:
(For your assistance)
·
SCHOLARSHIP: Maintenance of an overall academic average of 92 or
above for all of grade seven and the first three quarters of grade 8.
·
LEADERSHIP: Demonstration of being both a leader and a team
player and showing concern for others.
·
CITIZENSHIP: Consistency in showing responsibility regarding
respect for privileges and rights of other students and obedience of school
rules.
· CHARACTER: Demonstration of reliability and display of courtesy, cooperation, honesty, and a good sporting attitude.
· SERVICE: Willingness to serve the school and your community in an unselfish way. For equity, service in the school building (LCBMS) is required.
This personal statement is
due on Wednesday, April 30, 2008. No
paperwork will be accepted after 3:35 on this date.
