During our presentation, we ask the audience to compose (in pairs) a haiku poem based on some photographs and some factual, text-based information on oceans. This activity is preceded by a preassessment. Participants answer a few questions about themselves and then score themselves based on that assessment. A visual learner and linguistic/verbal learner are paired together. The visual learners study the photographs of oceans while the verbal learners read some facts about oceans. Then the pairs of students compose the haiku together.
